Last week, almost 5,000 experts and technology enthusiasts from all over Europe gathered at the three-day event in Bremen to discuss the latest developments, trends and challenges relating to SAP products and applications. \r\n\r\nOur sales team was also represented at the congress and had its own exhibition booth as well as hosting an espresso session. Rafael, the DSAG Annual Congress 2023 is now behind you. What were your impressions and what highlights have stuck in your mind? <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRafael: As in previous years, the DSAG Annual Congress was a very professional and superbly organised event. All relevant SAP business users, numerous service providers, SAP consultants and, of course, partner solutions and solution providers were on site. \r\n\r\nAt the XiTrust booth, visitors had the opportunity to sign their name with MOXIS using VR glasses in the Metaverse. This definitely generated a lot of enthusiasm and was very well received. Another highlight for me was the presentation by the University of Vienna on the topic of seamless HR management. With the HR4u digitalisation project, the University of Vienna demonstrated impressively how SAP can be used in the area of HR. Here, recruiting and onboarding processes interlock without media disruption, right through to the digital signing of employment contracts with MOXIS. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Which topics have received the most attention at the congress this year? <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe two main topics that have moved everyone in this sector in the last two to three years are certainly the S\/4HANA conversion and migration from on-premise to the cloud world of SAP. \r\n\r\nThis year, and this was particularly pleasing for me personally, sustainable transformation was also a key topic. There was a very exciting panel talk on this topic, which focussed in particular on the connection between technology, sustainability and corporate responsibility. They presented strategies for integrating sustainability principles into corporate management. The topic of our espresso session also fitted in very well with this. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This year's motto at the DSAG Congress was Wunderbar wandelbar. The overarching question was how companies can successfully master change. What do you take away from this? <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFor us, the main question was, of course, how an electronic signature \u00e0 la MOXIS can contribute to this and whether there is a need to embrace change. One example of this is the change in the recruitment process. How do you manage to appeal to and convince the new generation of young talent? It is simply no longer appropriate to send a contract by conventional post at the end of the process. \r\n\r\nThis is where we see our added value. Nowadays, the demand to use electronic signatures no longer comes only from internal department heads or process optimisation within the company. It comes from external stakeholders such as customers, suppliers and future applicants. The expectation is that contracts can be signed electronically. And this is precisely where the challenge lies: successfully implementing the change so that it not only affects internal processes, but also functions smoothly externally. It is no use if a supplier contract is created in SAP and the approval process for the supplier budget is fully digitalised, but in the end the contract is printed off SAP and sent to the supplier by post. Not only is this inefficient, it is also no longer sustainable for companies. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

You talked about sustainability in the espresso session. Could you briefly summarise what it was about? <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Firstly, we wanted to show how to introduce the e-signature in the company in a sustainable way, which means not only making MOXIS available to a specific group of people, but also gradually making it accessible to all departments and systems. Regardless of whether SAP or another third-party system is used. Secondly, we demonstrated how the e-signature can be integrated into the sustainability strategy, particularly as part of the CSRD. In future, companies will be able to use MOXIS to see directly how much CO\u2082, paper and water has been saved by using the e-signature. <\/p>\n

Incidentally, we will be explaining this topic in more detail in a webinar on 16 October. We will also take a look at the MOXIS application in SAP and explain the interface and functions to participants in detail. We will also answer questions on how to sign documents from SAP in a legally compliant manner. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Have discussions with SAP users revealed any concerns or reservations about e-signatures? <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn recent years, one thing we have often heard at the DSAG Annual Congress is: “Oh, e-signature, we will get round to it at some point.” It simply has not been a high priority. But in the meantime, especially this year, we have noticed that this is changing. It is now generally recognised that electronic signatures are a must-have in business. \r\n\r\nHowever, this raises an important question: Who will be responsible for the project and the introduction of the e-signature? The classic scenario is that someone who is responsible for SAP at company XY comes to our booth. They want a solution for electronic signatures in the SAP environment, but the responsibility for signatures and signature authorisation lies elsewhere in the organisation. In order to move away from paper-based signatures throughout the organisation, it is therefore crucial to get the right people on board and link the relevant interests. I think this is currently precisely the issue where we can support companies. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

What advice would you give to companies that work with SAP and now want to integrate e-signatures into their business processes? <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

My tip would be to first find out which areas of the company are interested in digital signatures. You should then sit down with the relevant departments and discuss how a company-wide introduction can be implemented effectively. Then jointly define who will be responsible as the product owner for the introduction of the e-signature within the company. <\/p>\n

It is important to bear in mind that MOXIS is available both in SAP and as a standalone solution. This means that the electronic signature option is accessible to all employees, including those who do not work with SAP. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

So now the decision in favour of the e-signature has been made, what is the implementation process for integrating MOXIS into SAP? How long does it take? <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Our recommendation is to introduce MOXIS first in order to achieve a quick win. Depending on the complexity, the implementation time varies from 5 days to 4 weeks. You should then think about which documents from SAP should be fed into the signature solution and what the signature processes look like in various workflows. These can then be entered into the MOXIS SAP add-on by customising to ensure that the right people or groups always receive the required documents for signature. After the initial implementation, we estimate around 4 hours of work per signature process. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
